The site has been conceived and designed by Manish Naik, Probal DasGupta and Komal Paralkar.
Manish had kept the Naik family’s martial legacy alive by serving in the army. He is a graduate of India’s premier military academies – the National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla, Pune and the India Military Academy, Dehradun.
Manish had some exciting (and certainly unique) experiences during his glorious stint with the Indian army. At the age of 21 he led some ingenious operations in the war against terror. At 24 he was wounded in action, and survived serious combat injuries while fighting terrorists in the militancy-infested Kashmir. Manish served with the Indian infantry with the illustrious Seventh Battalion of the Dogra Regiment and the famed Special Frontier Force. He later volunteered for a tenure on the Siachen Glacier, and commanded a strategic post on the Actual Ground Position Line (AGPL) opposite enemy pickets. Manish also had the privilege of leading multi-cultural troops in many other assignments.
After leaving the army, Manish cofounded a crisis management consulting firm (Canopy) with a fellow soldier, Probal DasGupta, who like him was a major with the infantry (Gorkha Rifles). Manish is an alumnus of Columbia (GSB 11) and Harvard (HKSEE 09), and Probal has earned a masters degree from Columbia University (SIPA 07). Both of them are avid readers, and military history enthusiasts. Manish is also a visiting faculty with leading business schools of Mumbai.
Komal Paralkar heads the IT and MIS functions of Canopy. Besides being an IT expert, she is also a subject matter expert on career transitions. Komal is a graduate engineer and MS from USA.
